About
Hitchhiker's Theatre
Stories Told Anywhere
"All the world's a stage..."
...and yet, when we look around, theatre seems too often limited to stages in auditoriums. The mission of Hitchhiker's Theatre is two-fold: we will provide more opportunities for creatives to learn new skills and put their craft on display, and we will push the bounds of where theatre can be performed. When you have this mindset, any space becomes a theatrical one which is conducive, not just to creative outside-the-box storytelling, but a very unique outlook on the world around you.
VISION STATEMENT
At Hitchhiker’s Theatre, our mission is to provide a platform for local artists to grow in their craft, to provide professionalizing and hands-on theatrical experiences for creatives in Spokane, and to push the boundaries of theatre by performing engaging and unique projects in spaces near and dear to our city. At Hitchhiker’s Theatre, we believe that good stories can come from everywhere and can be performed anywhere.
STATEMENT OF INCLUSION
Hitchhiker’s Theatre aims to prioritize access to theater productions to individuals and communities with nontraditional experiences. Hitchhiker's Theatre works with cast and crew regardless of age, sex, gender, orientation, race, class, abilities, faith, or political beliefs. Hitchhikers Theatre actively seeks out casts, crews, and locations in partnership with local community organizations in order to demonstrate our deliberate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Spokane region.
